On Monday, September 18th the leaders of Africa Thriving in Kenya delivered an entire months supply of food and water to Risa Primary School. The people of this community have to walk over 6km to collect clean water as a results of the worst drought that has hit the area in over 80 years.
The last food and water delivery that Africa Thriving made to Risa was with a group of volunteers that went to Kenya in July through an Africa Thriving Adventure. The principle of the school, James Musukeri said, "Our enrollment for the school has gone up significantly because of the support of Africa Thriving". When we told James that the delivery was on it's way he said "We held our hands together last Friday with my students for prayer for you and your team. The prayers were led by class one students".
This distribution was made possible entirely by the support of our Upendo Team. Upendo is the Swahili word for love. The Upendo Team is what we call our group of monthly supporters of Africa Thriving. Please consider joining our team for as little as $10 a month. Upendo Begins With U! Each Upendo Team member will get their own Africa Thriving T-Shirt.
