Famine in Africa is not a new crisis. The world has seen this many times and we know a lot about it. If there is one thing that we are certain of it is this – when it is declared a famine, it is too late to save the lives of thousands.
“We learned this lesson in 2011. It took an official declaration of ‘famine’ to mobilize resources in Somalia. That was too late.” – Philippe Lazzarini, UN Humanatarian co-ordinator for Somalia.
On May 8th, 2017 Africa Thriving delivered 4,110 pounds of food and 10,000 liters of clean water to a remote school in Risa, Kenya that has been heavily impacted by the worst drought since 1945. Africa Thriving is a non profit organization based out of San Diego, California that bring food, water and bible to people in Africa to help them thrive. All donated funds to Africa Thriving go directly to Africa to be put into action by our local, indigenous leaders. We prove every project with videos and photos from our local leaders. Thanks to Daybreak Church for making this distribution to Risa Primary School Possible.
